Much of my work for the past few years is dark. Stop violence against women. Murder. The rape and murder of my great-aunt Sarah Chaya Krikst in the pogroms of 1917 - 1921 Lithuania. Grief.
I then began looking for the light. Love. Repair in the face of trauma and loss. In October and November of 2025 I held an exhibition titled WOMEN, POGROMS, LOVE.
In January 2026 I painted Chanukah #1 2026 in response to the Bondi Beach terror attack. I engage with colour, mark and form to carry both loss and hope. The figures bear witness to those taken. The Bondi sand and the sea are in the painting, and the four floating chanukiahs in the sky affirm the light.
